Canvas bodies, brass hardware,
a workshop that knows how to cut
AGVA SINGAPORE PTE LTD is a computer systems design and integrated systems studio that also runs a working canvas case line from its Aljunied Road bench. Every laptop sleeve, desk organiser and travel case leaves the workshop at 625 Aljunied Road #04-07 Aljunied Industrial Complex, Singapore - 389836, Singapore (SG) with a cut sheet, a stitch record and a fit check.
We work the way a systems integrator works: measure the load, plan the run, build the panel, then verify that the finished piece does what the drawing promised. The canvas bench is small on purpose. It keeps our hands close to the material and our drawings close to the people who use the finished work.

Panels are laid flat, marked with chalk, and trimmed on the bed before anything reaches a needle.
Zip Well and Brass Slider
The well is cut wide so the slider travels clean and the tape never folds back on itself.
Buckle Bench and Straps
Straps are cut to length, burned at the end, then set on the bench with solid brass buckles.
Systems thinking applied to soft goods
AGVA SINGAPORE PTE LTD sits in the computer systems design and integrated systems space, and that background shapes the way the case bench operates. We treat a laptop sleeve the way an integrator treats a rack: there is a defined envelope, a set of tolerances, a cable or accessory path, and a final fit test. The difference is that our enclosure is canvas, our fasteners are brass, and our test bench is a table with a good lamp over it.
That combination is unusual, and it is deliberate. Clients who come to us often need something more than a stock bag. They need a sleeve that matches a device fleet, an organiser that survives a shared desk, or a travel case that holds a specific kit without rattling. We plan those builds with the same discipline we would apply to a small integration project: scope, drawing, sample, approval, production, handover.
Every job begins on paper. Before a single panel is cut, the bench draws the finished piece at full size, marks the seam allowance, and lists the hardware. If the drawing does not close, the job does not start.
The workshop is on the fourth floor of the Aljunied Industrial Complex, a short walk from the road that gives it its address. Machines run during daylight hours, and the cutting bed stays free for walk-in sample reviews when a client needs to see a seam up close.
Three families of work
- Laptop sleeves cut to device dimensions, lined in mint cloth, and closed with a brass zip
- Desk organisers with stiffened bases, divided wells, and a strap closure for transport
- Travel cases built around a packing list rather than a frame size
Around those three families we also run custom canvas panels, bulk corporate orders and a repair and refit service for pieces that have been in use for years. Full detail on every service is on the services page.
If you are planning a corporate rollout, the best first step is a short call. We can usually tell within fifteen minutes whether a job belongs on the bench or whether a simpler off-the-shelf answer would serve you better. We would rather say no at that stage than cut fabric we cannot stand behind.
AGVA SINGAPORE PTE LTD opens its March corporate order window for bulk canvas sleeve, organiser and travel case runs, planned on the bench and stitched in the Aljunied workshop.
What the bench builds
Six services sit on the bench, each with its own shelf, its own tools and its own measure of what good looks like. Read the short note on each shelf, then open the services page for the full description, material list and lead time.
Laptop Sleeve Runs
Device-matched sleeves in heavy canvas, lined in mint cloth, with a padded inner wall and a brass zip that runs the full length of the opening. We build single samples for evaluation and matched runs for teams of twenty or more.
Desk Organiser Lines
Stiffened canvas trays with divided wells for cables, pens, drives and the small hardware that collects on a working desk. The base is board-reinforced so the organiser holds its shape even when lifted by one corner.
Travel Case Builds
Cases planned around a packing list, not a frame size. We map the kit, set the internal dividers, choose the closure, and test the packed case on a scale before the run is approved. Suited to field tools, presentation kits and sample sets.
Custom Canvas Panels
Loose panels cut and finished for clients who assemble their own products, from drawer liners to screened backdrops and modular case skins. Binding, grommets and stitch patterns are specified on the drawing.
Bulk Corporate Orders
Scheduled runs with a documented sample, a hardware approval sheet and a delivery plan by batch. We hold the approved sample on file so that any repeat order matches the first shipment without a fresh round of guessing.
Repair and Refit Service
Replacement zips, rebound edges, new liners, fresh straps and hardware swaps for canvas pieces still in daily use. We assess the piece first and quote only the work that will actually extend its life.
From first measure to final fit
A job on this bench moves through five stages, and none of them can be skipped. First comes the measure, where we record the device or load and any constraints around it. Second is the drawing, where the cut sheet is set at full size with seam allowances and hardware positions marked. Third is the sample, cut in the final material rather than a substitute so that weight and drape are honest.
Fourth is the run, stitched in batches with a stitch count recorded per piece. Fifth is the fit check, where the finished item is loaded, closed, opened and carried before it is packed for delivery. A piece that fails the fit check returns to the bench, and the reason is written on the job card.
That rhythm keeps the work predictable. It also means clients can ask a fair question at any point and get a straight answer, because the record exists on paper as well as in the finished piece.
Why canvas, brass and mint cloth
Canvas is the right body for this work because it takes a stitch cleanly, holds a fold, and wears into something better over time. A canvas sleeve that has carried a laptop for three years looks used, not broken. That property matters when a piece is expected to stay in service through several device generations.
Solid brass is used at every closure and strap point. Brass buckles and sliders hold their tension, do not chip to a pale core, and can be refinished on the same bench that set them. The mint liner cloth is chosen for its contrast against the canvas and its low lint, which keeps screens and keyboards clean.
We keep a small stock of each material and buy the rest per run. That policy keeps the shelf honest and makes it easier to match a repeat order to the first batch. Full detail on materials, care and repair is available on the services page or by writing to inquiries@agvasingapore.buzz.
A stitch line is a promise in thread: the panel stays where it was placed, the edge holds, and the piece keeps its shape long after the drawing is filed away. That is the standard every job on this bench is measured against — not the look of the first day, but the condition after a year of honest use.
Teams, studios and stores
Most of our work comes from organisations that outfit people rather than shelves. A software team that wants sleeves matching its device fleet, a design studio that needs organisers for shared desks, a field service group that carries test kits into buildings: each of these jobs starts with the same question about how the piece will be used.
We also work directly with retailers and online stores that need a reliable maker behind a canvas line. For those clients the conversation is about consistency: the same stitch density, the same hardware, the same edge binding on the hundredth piece as on the first. A documented sample and a shared cut sheet make that possible.
When the bench is open
The workshop operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, and on Saturday mornings by appointment for sample reviews. Messages sent through the contact page are answered within one business day, usually sooner.
For a job that needs a quick answer, call +19434695872 during workshop hours. For drawings, photographs and specifications, email inquiries@agvasingapore.buzz. Please include the device or load dimensions with the first message so the reply can be specific rather than a request for more information.

Three things that make a first enquiry useful
- Send the dimensions of the device or load, including any case or cover that stays on it
- Tell us the quantity, the delivery window and whether the run is one batch or several
- Say whether you need a sample first, since almost every projected run on this bench begins with one
With those three details in hand we can usually quote a bench slot and a material estimate in the first reply. If the job is outside what the workshop does well, we will say so plainly and point you toward a better route.
